I saw Michael Fassbender and his girlfriend Zoe Kravitz at the Whole Foods in Honolulu today. Made me kind of sad, because here he was enjoying a comparitably normal and undisturbed moment, and if the Oscar talk about Shame is right, I don’t think that is going to last.
There was a funny thing though. He and Zoe were the only ones sitting at the tables outside Whole Foods wearing sunglasses IN THE SHADE and READING THE NEWSPAPER. Apparently they subscribe to the notion that if you are wearing sunglasses then no one will recognize you. Given the circumstances however it just drew attention. Fortunately, if anyone else recognized them they didn’t harass them either.
While I like his work, I hope he gets a lot more moments of normal in his future.
